Pinhole Test Apparatus
Certain fine-grained soils with high sodium content are highly erodible by the water flowing trough them. During the test the ow of water under a hgh hy draulc gradent thr ough a cavtyn the soils reproduced.
Pinhole Test Apparatus s used for evaluatng clay sols for erodblty by owng water through a small hole that s drlled through the compacted specmen.
The apparatus consists of cylingdrical metal container fitted one end with a water inlet and the other end width an outlet connecton, a standppe tube wth scale and a stand to support the apparatus. Constant Level Tank should be or dered separately.
